Dear Prospective Student,

We are honored that you are considering our school for your herbal and natural healing studies.

Perhaps we can best introduce you to our school with a question and a story:

Question: How much do you spend on health care each year?

Hold that thought for a moment while I introduce you to someone and tell you a story.
The man to the left is Dr. John Raymond Christopher.

He was born in 1909 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He suffered many health problems in his youth including an almost fatal case of croup, rhematoid arthritis and hardening of the arteries.  He was in almost constant pain, and doctors at the time said he would never reach age 30.
One day his mom asked him what he was going to be when he grew up.

"I'm going to be a doctor!" he answered without hesitation.

"Oh Raymond!" his mother laughed, "How can you be a doctor?  You can't stand the sight of blood.  You've never been able to slay the rabbits you raise for food, and you run from the kitchen whenever I raise the old butcher knife to a chicken.  What kind of doctor would that be?"
There was a moment's pause before he answered this time, and a look of intent unusual in a child his age, "Mother, I will be able to heal people without cutting them up.  There will be natural ways of doing it."

Ray's interest in healing people naturally grew when he saw its positive results in healing his mother of dropsy and when he saw great improvements in his own health when he followed a healthy diet.
Ray went on to study herbology and natural healing in Canada, Iowa and Los Angeles.

He is hailed as America's foremost herbalist.  His books and research are studied by herbalists worldwide.
In 1953 he developed a program to pass on his methodology and founded The School of Natural Healing.

At age 73 Dr. Christopher passed away from complications of a traumatic head injury, but The School of Natural Healing is stronger than ever.  David Christopher, Dr. Chistopher's son, carries on the work of his father today.

To sum up Dr. Christopher's works, David said:
"He is gone from among us, but he leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.  He created more than fifty herbal formulas that have exacted almost miraculous healings.  He spearheaded The School of Natural Healing, which found its way overseas to the highly touted Cambridge University.  He authored many works on herbs, some of which are considered to be classics in their field" (Dr. John Raymond Christopher: An Herbal Legacy of Courage, by David W. Christopher, M.H.).
Dr. Christopher was able to help himself, his family and thousands of others because he studied and understood natural healing principles.  He founded The School of Natural Healing to pass that knowledge on to you in an organized, comprehensive way.

A limited number of partial scholarships are awarded from The Dr. Christopher Memorial Scholarship Fund on a yearly basis.  Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's service to his/her fellow men and according to the applicant's financial needs.
